The first focus meeting took place on 18th September1999 in The high technologyDepartment of Chuvash region. Representatives of higher education university and, IT companies of Chuvashya were among those involved in the IT group working during the meeting. The following important issued were discussed: the development and growth of the IT sector, the necessary measures to be taken by the region Administration in order to support the IT sector and to overcome the barriers on the way to its efficient development, the priorities of the strategic development. The consulting company “Reyting”, Moscow, carries out the order of Chuvash region Administration and has entered upon the first stage of developing the IT sector strategy, i.e. collecting and analyzing the data.
